Practice the DELE A2 speaking exam with an AI examiner

Delevoz is a simulator for the DELE A2 oral exam. You do all three tareas like the real exam, talk to Profesora María (an AI examiner) and get a score out of 25 with advice on what to work on. Your first 3 credits are free: enough for one full exam.

The DELE A2 speaking exam

The DELE A2 has four parts: reading, listening, writing and speaking (Expresión e interacción orales). Each part is worth 25 points, so the oral exam is a quarter of the total.

The oral exam lasts 12 minutes, after 12 minutes of preparation. It has three tareas. Depending on the exam centre, it can be held on the same day as the other parts or a day before or after.

Delevoz practises the oral exam only. It does not cover reading, listening or writing.

Tarea 1, Tarea 2 and Tarea 3

Tarea 1: you talk about a topic.

Tarea 2: you describe a photograph.

Tarea 3: you have a conversation with the examiner in a simulated situation.

In Delevoz you pick a topic and a photo, as in the real exam. You write your talking points on paper and the exam starts when the timer ends. Profesora María takes you through each tarea, and Tarea 3 is a voice conversation with her. Your answers are recorded so they can be graded.

How it is scored

In the real exam there are two examiners. One rates each tarea separately (60% of the mark): Tarea 3, the conversation, counts for half of that part, and Tareas 1 and 2 a quarter each. The interviewer gives one overall rating for the whole exam (40%). Each rating looks at two things: use of language (roughly two thirds) and task completion (roughly one third).

To pass the DELE A2 you need at least 30 out of 50 points in each of two groups: reading plus writing, and listening plus speaking. That is why the oral exam on its own cannot tell you whether you pass.

Delevoz gives you a score out of 25 for the oral exam using the same method: use of language and task completion, with the official weights. You see quotes from your own answers and what to practise next. It does not score pronunciation. It is practice guidance, not an official DELE result.

Taking A2 for Spanish nationality

If you are applying for Spanish nationality by residence, in certain cases you need to show Spanish at level A2 or higher with the DELE diploma, and also pass the CCSE (the constitutional and sociocultural knowledge test). The rules depend on your situation and can change, so check with Instituto Cervantes and the Ministry of Justice before you register.

Delevoz helps you practise the speaking part of the DELE A2. It does not prepare you for the CCSE or the other DELE parts.

FAQ

Is Delevoz the official exam?

No. Delevoz is an independent practice tool. It is not affiliated with Instituto Cervantes and its results are not an official DELE score.

How much does it cost?

You get 3 free credits when you sign up: enough for one full exam.

Do I need a microphone?

Yes. You speak out loud, as in the real exam. Delevoz works in your browser on a phone or a computer.

Does it score my pronunciation?

No. Delevoz rates use of language and task completion from what you say, not how it sounds. For pronunciation, practise with a teacher or native speakers.

No, and nothing can. Delevoz helps you learn the format, practise speaking out loud and find your weak points before exam day.
